VILLAGE OF SEBEWAING, MILagoon biosolids removal, dewatering and landfill disposalBioTech Agronomics was contracted by the Village of Sebewaing to dredge and land apply approximately five (5) million gallons of liquid biosolids from their 14 acre primary cell. However, after conducting the required land application sampling, it was determined that molybdenum exceeded the Part 24 ceiling limits for land application. Recognizing, that land application was no longer a viable option and the material would have to be disposed in a landfill, BioTech Agronomics and the Village evaluated various dewatering options. Based on this analysis, it was determined that the most cost effective option would be to dredge the biosolids into geotextile tubes and following natural dewatering, excavate and haul the material to a nearby land fill in Bad Axe. Equipment was mobilized and the biosolids were dredged into approximately 3100 linear feet of geotextile tubes. Approximately 3500 tons of dewatered material was excavated and transported to the landfill. |
