Biosolids removal and land application

BioTech Agronomics provided comprehensive biosolids management services for Earth Tech, the contract operator of the Wixom WWTP. BioTech Agronomics land applied approximately 750 dry tons per year from this facility. During the transition from groundwater to DWSD water, one of the local industries flushed their cooling towers and discharged an excessive amount of molybdenum into the sanitary sewer system, thereby rendering the biosolids unacceptable for land application. BioTech Agronomics mobilized a mobile belt filter press to the Wixom WWTP and dewatered and landfilled the biosolids to remove the molybdenum contaminated material from the facility.

Upon successfully demonstrating that molybdenum source had been eliminated and the biosolids met the Part 24 Land Application criteria land application was resumed.
